    MOONG DAL HALWA

    Hi

    I m here to keep u in touch with Indian yummy yummy recipes(veg) n indian sweets .

    I hope all will just enjoy the taste of Indian food.

    Here it goes:

    Moong Dal Halwa could be enjoyed in any occasion. Women, in India, prefer it at festival times. We could call Moong dal halwa recipe as festive indian recipe.


    Moong dal halwa recipe ingredients


    * Moong dal - 1 cup

    * Almonds - 8-10

    * Cardamoms - 4

    * Saffron - a pinch

    * khoya - 3/4 cup

    * Milk - 1/2 cup

    * Sugar - 1cup (as per taste)

    * Water - 2 cups

    * Ghee - 3-4 tbsp


    Moong dal halwa recipe preparation method

    Wash and soak the dal (beans) overnight. Grind coarsely, using less water. Prepare sugar syrup with sugar and water. Soak saffron in hot milk. Crumble khoya into fine granules. Blanch almonds, Cool and peel them and cut finely. Heat ghee in a pan and add moong dal and fry till golden brown on a low heat and keep stirring. Add the sugar syrup and saffron milk. Mix well and cook till halwa is of dropping consistency. Add khoya and cook till it dissolves. Garnished with crushed cardamoms and sliced almonds. This indian food of moong dal halwa is ready to serve. Serve it hot.
